Peter Blackburn
President
Peter Blackburn has been working in the communications industry almost as long as there has been a modern communications industry! He began in 1976 as a sub-contractor in Grand Rapids. After working in the field as an installer and then a contracts manager, he was hired as Operations Manager for the firm for which he originally sub-contracted. He attributes his success in the industry to this “hands-on” approach!
In 1985 Peter started a company in the Cable TV industry in Tucson, Arizona. He then returned to the Grand Rapids area to start a new cabling company, this time in the Voice and Data industry. Under the name Unetco, the company expanded over the next 14 years to include telephone system installations and numerous large structured cabling projects for Digital Communications and Wang Laboratories, Champion Sparkplug, Fruehauf Trailers and the Kennedy Space Center.
When the buzz about VoIP and its potential began to gain momentum at the turn of the century, Peter founded a new company and took the name Millennia Telecom to signify the changes coming in the communications industry.
Ben Bully
Consultant
Ben Bully "gets" sales! He understands the ins and outs of finding and presenting the best solution for customers at the best possible price. According to Ben:“Once you figure that out, selling is easy”!
After attending both Northwestern Michigan College in Traverse City and Kirkland Community College in Roscommon, Ben started selling. He hasn’t stopped since.
At Ackerman Electrical Supply in the mid 1980’s, he helped sell a custom lighting design to Chris Craft Corporation. In the late 1980’s, he ventured into business for himself, selling, installing, and refinishing hardwood flooring.
In the early 1990’s he was Outside Sales and Operations Manager for a distribution firm. He not only sold, but also taught, managed, coached, and encouraged a sales force that increased sales over 100% in the first year and went on to set sales records in three out of the next five years.
Jerry O’Brien
Account Rep
Back when most people were still trying to figure out technology, Jerry was selling technology solutions to customers throughout West Michigan. His 30 years in the technology industry have taught Jerry not only how to sell technology, but how to accurately diagnose customer needs. “Selling is 4 parts understanding customer’s needs and 1 part prescribing.” said Jerry recently.
Jerry was born in Detroit and took a degree in Finance from Aquinas College. He married Patty Van Ravensway in 1975. Over the next 30 years they raised 3 children: Jerry 22; Katie 21; and Anna 18. When he is not working, he serves as a volunteer with MOKA, a non-profit charitable agency serving persons with disabilities in a ten county area in western Michigan. Jerry was recently elected President of the MOKA Foundation, the fund raising arm of MOKA.
